Zamioculcas zamiifolia is an houseplant that offers glossy evergreen leaves. The plant has air purifying qualities for the indoor environment. They are native to dry grassland and forest in Eastern Africa. The plant grow well when potted under the right conditions.
Light: These plants can take a range of light from extremely low light to bright indirect light or direct morning sun.
Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the top 75% of soil to dry out before watering again. Yellow leaves usually indicate overwatering or severe underwatering. Keep the soil even drier in lower light. Soggy soil will cause the rhizomes to rot.
Temperature: An ideal range is 60-80 degrees.
Fertilizer: Fertilize during their active growing season when they are producing new leaves
Repotting: Plants produce more leaves when rootbound.
Toxicity: Plant is toxic and should be kept away from children and pets.

If you notice a tip or edge burn often with a yellowish hue at the edge, especially on older leaves, it could be due to your tap water. To solve this, allow your tap water to stand overnight before watering so the chlorine and fluoride can evaporate. Remove any yellow leaves to keep your plant strong and growing. Do not use any shine products on the leaves, instead, clean leaves occasionally with a damp cloth.
